Oil on Canvas
18 x 24 in
Known as "Camino del Muerte" in Spanish, this is a dirt road that goes through Bolivia. There is no railing to protect vehicles so it is very risky. Many people have fallen to their deaths.
As stated above, this road is very dangerous. I actually rode on this road (homophone clash!) on my way from the Carmen Pampa University to Madidi National Park in the Amazon. It was a thrilling experience. I had an old photo, but I did a charcoal drawing and transferred it to an oil painting with a moonlit night scene. The skull in the far right obviously symbolizes death.
