I am an artist currently residing in the state of Minnesota.  I received my Bachelor's Degree in fine arts from Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  My primary choice of medium is oil painting, but I also work with watercolors and dry media. Many of my artistic influences come from the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist painters such as Monet, Van Gogh, and Sisley.  I am attracted to the brushwork and the bright colors of their art.  Another artist who has influenced me is Edward Hopper.  I enjoy his usage of light and shadows, which I have applied to my work.   In general, my art portrays a sense of solitude.  It is not a solitude that makes a viewer feel lonely or isolated, but instead puts them in a peaceful and meditative state.
